Today we talk about antiaging medicine with Dr. Emanuela Bartolozzi of EMA BART Florence, a nutritionist from Florence, expert in Integrated Medicine and Antiaging.

How and with what criteria are the raw materials for your products selected?

The raw materials must be of vegetal origin and from certified organic cultivations (e.g. red grape concentrate, aloe gel, turmeric root, shea butter) or they must be of botanical origin, even if industrially processed, to extract the principles active ingredients and make them more effective and concentrated (example: BetaGlucans from Oat Bran, Glycerretic Acid from Liquorice, Arbutin from Bearberry, Ellagic Acid from Pomegranate, Peptides from cereals).

Other ingredients can be produced in the laboratory, but must have proven effectiveness (e.g. Carnosine, DMAE, Hyaluronic Acid, Colloidal Gold, Alpha Lipoic Acid, Coenzyme Q10, Vitamins C, E, B3) on skin hydration and regeneration. Furthermore, each selected ingredient must be harmless to the skin and health of the consumer.

What needs do you hear most from your buyers in the field of anti-aging medicine? Effectiveness, visible results, and respect for the environment

Where is the production of your products located? In Florence

The cosmetics sector is made in Italy: Why do we tend to prefer Italian production in the cosmetics field? What is the added value in choosing an Italian product?
Italy has always been a world leader in creativity, quality, elegance and beauty. “Made in Italy” is in itself an internationally recognized brand. Tuscany and Florence further strengthen this perception of excellence, luxury and craftsmanship.

What few people know is that Florence is also the international cradle of cosmetics: it is in fact in this city that the first cosmetic formulations were born between the end of the 1400s and the beginning of the 1500s and from here they were spread throughout the world, giving rise to the current "Cosmetic Science".

The first text was written by Caterina Sforza (1463-1509), Countess of Forlì. Passionate about alchemy, herbalism, cosmetics and medicine, she wrote "Experiments of the most excellent lady Caterina da Forli", formulations of recipes to maintain health and beauty.

In her third marriage she married Giovanni De Medici and moved to Florence, where she died. It was then another Caterina, Caterina de Medici (1519-1589) who brought the tradition and scientific knowledge of the time on cosmetics, perfumes and natural remedies to the world. Marrying Henry de Valois, the future king of France, she brought with her apothecaries, artisans and chefs across the Alps, who disseminated Florentine traditions, culture and cosmetics to the French court.

What are the active ingredients of MIRACLE SPA MASK and the main benefits of the face mask?
The active ingredients present in this “Miraculous” mask are:

• Green Tea and Chamomile hydrolates with soothing, antioxidant and skin-purifying action and stimulation and protection of the microcirculation.

How often should a face mask be applied?

For those who wish, it can also be left on all night, as a sleep-on mask, to be rinsed off in the morning. Fantastic, before an event, to have fresher, brighter and more rested skin.

Is there a specific age to start using your line? From what age is it recommended?

The mechanisms that lead to aging begin very early and, especially even the very young, must begin to acquire a culture of skin care and cleansing.
