Perfumes 19-69: freedom, tolerance and counterculture
The cult perfume brand 19-69 was founded in 2017, by Johan Bergelin, artist and concept developer. The first launch of 5 fragrances involved a team of Scandinavian, Italian and French technicians and creatives for two years.
Johan Bergelin: wearing 19-69 perfumes means freedom, tolerance and counterculture. The inspiration behind this project includes iconic moments from this period, through individual meaningful and dense stories. Art, music and different cultures are behind the individual inspirations of the fragrances. They permeate its name and packaging. The different colors are a symbolic rainbow, a symbol of freedom and peace at that time.
Behind every fragrance there is a piece of different cultures, artistic forms and periods, taken from Africa, Asia and the Western world. All the fragrances are designed to be genderless, and reflect the open-mindedness and culture typical of the era that inspired them.
The bottles are painted and silk-screened in Italy.
Each 19-69 perfume product is made manually. Small variations are to be considered as an integral part of the quality of the project. The fragrances were created in collaboration with master perfumers Amelie Bourgeois, Anne-Sophie Behaghel and Dario Volpones. The selected ingredients are of the highest quality and functional to the final yield of the product. Each fragrance is like a journey in itself.
– The 13 fragrances of 1969 are like individual journeys into the world of counter-culture, each with its
its own story to tell, and each with its own different impact on everyone's skin. Based on your PH, your diet, the medicines you take or your hormonal cycles, the perfume will vary slightly, personalizing it to you. After all, it is known that we tend to choose perfumes that harmonize with the smell of our skin.
Perfumes 19-69 are like a living being, sensitive to changes in temperature, humidity or light: keep it in a dark place or in the refrigerator to keep its properties intact for a long time
