Sunscreens that are safe for your skin and the planet
With its innovations, SVR wants to satisfy every skin need. SVR tirelessly aims to convert a maximum number of people to systematically use safe sunscreens and sun protection when exposing themselves to the sun.
At SVR we are used to working with mineral filters because, originally, we only had 3 mineral sunscreens. Sun Secure Eau Solaire spf 50+, SVR's dermatological solar water with a biodegradable and non-ecotoxic formula to preserve the marine ecosystem.
Every year in France, 80,000 new cases of skin cancer are diagnosed(1), three times more than 20 years ago. Yet, even today, only half of the French buy sunscreen(2) despite skin cancer prevention campaigns.
Some consider sunscreens unhealthy and others blame them for their harmful effects on the marine environment.
L'interview to Myriam Tamelghaghet
SVR R&D Director
Why did you file a solar patent?
It is a scientific recognition that demonstrates that we are pioneers in solar innovation, which is a highly technical field. And it is the culmination of 4 years of work and more than 200 experiments to achieve the desired result: an SPF50- ratio. minimalist and optimized, UVA compliant, rated 100/100 on Yuka and tested for endocrine disruptors.
How are solar tiltrots a technical sector?
In general, in SVR we formulate sensory textures with a high % of active ingredients, which represents a specific challenge. In safe sunscreens, we must combine the technicality, effectiveness (SPFS0-.) and sensoriality of the different galenics. And to this we have added respect for the environment!
A beautiful cocktail.
What drove you to revolutionize the SUN SECURE range?
As a dermatological laboratory, our philosophy is to offer our consumers useful, safe and effective products.
And as controversy emerged over certain sunscreens, we had to rework our formulas. Finally, 4 years ago we added respect for the environment to our cards and SUN SECURE had to evolve in this direction, as a range used in the marine environment.
Why is it important for a sunscreen to respect the environment?
All products must respect the environment, both in their formula and in their packaging. This is a global issue, especially in view of global warming and the Paris agreements.
