Pardon (Nasomatto, 2011, perfumer Alessandro Gualtieri) is a dense, luxurious woody-oriental extrait that opens on a floral top (magnolia/flowers) and quickly develops a rich, warm heart of dark chocolate, tonka and cinnamon that sits on a creamy, resinous oud and sandalwood base. Typical descriptors: warm-spicy, chocolatey, woody, sweet, slightly powdery, resinous/oudy and sophisticated — often described as ‘expensive-wood’ or ‘chocolatey patchouli/oud.’ The scent is layered: bright floral opening, then a pronounced gourmand/tonal chocolate-tonka/cinnamon mid, and a long-lasting, creamy woody-oud base. Overall character: dark, sweet-spicy, elegant and somewhat gourmand-oudy rather than smoky.
