Gris Charnel Extrait (BDK Parfums, 2022 by Mathilde Bijaoui) is a woody-spicy, warm gourmand-woody extrait that amplifies the original Gris Charnel signature. The opening is bright and spicy — prominent cardamom with green-fruity fig and a black tea facet — moving into an iris/woody heart featuring bourbon vetiver and cistus. The base is richly textured sandalwood warmed by Madagascar vanilla and tonka bean, with cedar and Indonesian patchouli leaf adding depth and a lightly smoky/ashy, ambery roundness. The extrait is concentrated (~30%), producing a richer, more voluminous drydown where vanilla/tonka create a voluptuous sweet amber warmth layered over pronounced woody and patchouli facets. Overall character: warm, woody, subtly sweet (honey/vanilla-tonka), spicy-cardamom top, slightly smoky/ashy facets; not strictly linear — evolves across wear.
